Within two weeks of coming home from Spain, I was off to Denver and D.C.
My little sister entered the Congressional Art Competition, and won for her district!! Mark Amodei picked her photo as the winner, here it is:
Anyway, I drove down to Denver to fly out to D.C. with Aubrey and my Mom, We spent the day in Boulder, and around Denver. I even met up with a good friend from my Caherconnell field school! My flight out to D.C. was at 11pm, and I arrived at 4am. I didn't get to Foggy Bottom until after 5am.
If you know me, you know that I am a huge anthropology & history nerd- so I spent most of my time in the Smithsonian's, other museums, The National Archives, and Library of Congress. Thanks to Aubrey, my family received the BEST capital tour ever, which included several historical moments.
D.C. also has FANTASTIC food. It's probably my favorite thing about big cities- the food opportunities are endless!!!
