If you haven't read Where in the World: Menorca, get caught up here.
When we last left off, I had finished field school and was very excited to receive some days off. Menorca is a fairly small island, taking only 45/50 min to get across the island. With that in mind, the group decided to head off to some beaches we didn't go to during our excursion day.
We went to one of the major beaches on the island and rented kayaks to a smugglers cave!! It was so beautiful, the water was crazy clear, and it was so lush under it!! Sea grass, fish, and so mauch more was beath this calm water.
Of course, it didn't stay calm. Some of our group left to go check out more caves in the area. One group quickly turned back and told us we needed to turn back to shore and the main beach- there was a storm coming our way. The waves progressively got worse as we paddle further into the open water, Caitlin and I almost flipped, but Mattea and Nic did!! We thankfully made it back, and the storm BLEW AROUND US. We went back to our residence after that adventure. It was a fantastic way to end my time in Menorca.
I flew to Barcelona the next day, then onto Zurich!
